needing x4 new tyres. currently on duel liners 20" runflats, thinking of changing to non runflats any recommendations or advice.
thinking of price difference and non runflats might be a softer ride.

Others report it as being a softer ride.  As the sidewalls are less stiff there will be more 'give'.

Bear in mind comments about using non '*' marked tyres and go for one of the non-RFT options available.  If you have a BMW warranty you will need to stay with '*' marking, but not RFT.

No guarantee you would have an issue with non marked, but there is increasing evidence that the risk of blowing a diff or transfer box is increased by doing so.

Thanks for reply.
Veh way out of warranty. Just looking for poss a cheaper option and a not so hard ride.
So is there no other bmw rated tyres other than run flats?
Or any other recommended tyres.

I changed tyres about 4 months ago and went for the Vredesteins. I don't think there are any tyres for 20 inch alloys that are BMW * marked. I couldn't find any myself anyway.

After changing to non RFT the ride was noticeably different and the road noise was a lot less too.

I have had a look around at non runflats and it seemed in 20" sizes the price difference wasnt enough to make it worth changing away from runflats.

I am not sure that all that's talked about with tyres is right I have run non * marked tyres and had no issues I bought a X3 two years old from a dealer with non marked tyres and under Bmw warranty there was no issue when using or no warranty problems
Also
Looked at a 3 series touring the other day and the rears where not star marked either case of do as I say not as I do maybe
