After 8 years of running my 4.8is, i've decided to buy myself a new motor - I'm keeping the X5 too for the missus to run around in.
I've gone for an F10 M5 - picked it up on Monday and what a machine it is. Stunning to drive, however you want to drive it...
I'm taking a job back in the UK from January onwards, so wanted to treat myself with a new car to get there.
I'm overseas at the moment, so will be difficult to get pictures up but will try!

Congrats on the new car!
I had one from new for 3 years and managed 32000 miles of which about 6000 were essential, the balance being for fun
A great, great car and I haven't driven anything faster, I suspect it's up there with any supercar that's for sure.
I managed to average 18 over the 32000 miles and actually it was cheap to insure and service. That said mine was just about in need of new pads and disks all round, tyres and a service when it went and you won't see much change from £3.5k plus depending on where you go.
I miss the power but always found myself driving like a loon which I don't do now in my X5!
Post some pics when you get a chance and enjoy.

Hi
A good choice and I assume it's the 4.4 twin turbo engine with 553/555 Bhp I'm sure it will put a smile on your face
If you get bored with it after Christmas as the novelty has worn off I'll look after it
)

I've always wanted one, from the days that I was running E39's... but I was just doing way too many miles to get one as well as being a little young. Then I bought the X5 when I went overseas, and I haven't really seen the need to buy anything else for a long time because I just wasn't home enough to drive it, as well as the fact that the X5 did everything I needed and I was putting my money into property. Now coming back home, I thought if I don't do it now, I probably never will.
It's a Monte Carlo Blue which looks fantastic in the flesh. I wanted one with the standard 19's as these are supposed to perform better and be more comfortable... they actually look really good in person but just don't photograph well. I'll be sticking some Winter Rubber on these then getting myself some Competition 601m Wheels for the Summer.
Although i've only driven it for one day, I absolutely love it. Feels so powerful, yet so refined. The steering feels very well connected to the road. The gearbox is stunning. Generally i'm very happy. It doesn't feel like a big car to me, but maybe thats because I have had 5-Series in the past and like that sort of size of vehicle.
Mogsy - did you have any optional extras or things that you wish you'd have spec'd? Did you ever put Winter Tyres on or did you just run the Pilot Super Sports?

Yes its the 4.4 Twin Turbo... it's officially 560bhp but i'll not argue over 5bhp
With a little payment to DMS Automotive, you can squeeze 700bhp out of these quite easily although that is of no interest to me at the moment. It is more than capable as it is.
