Another Newbie X5 owner

Post by Domowilko » Mon Nov 07, 2016 2:01 pm

Hi All

Some interesting posts already. I took the leap from an 06 320d se to an 09 X5 XDRIVE 35D MSPORT 7S A yesterday. I am wondering if i should take out a policy with warranty direct as with any new car you dont know whats around the corner.

Has anyone had any dealing with them and can offer any useful advice. I am unsure what costs may be incurred with a vehicle of this type now 7 years old.

Regards

Dom

Worth doing.

I had a policy from WD which paid for the repair of my E53 gearbox £3,700!

What you have to watch is that diagnostics are not covered, only the work for the repair itself, and if you cancel mid-year there is a 30% 'admin charge' plus a fixed fee.

If you talk to WD don't accept their first offer.  Play coy and they'll call you back within a couple of days with a better offer  :)

Whoever you go through check the fine print!

Thank you for your feedback. I think the peace of mind is worth the money and after reading many online reviews and a genuine good story, i think i will take them up on the offer when they call me back.
