Hey all. So today I purchased a 2006 3.0d le man's. Bit daunting but I'm more than happy.
I'll try and get pics up soon.
Basic service this weekend. I think I'm right in thinking it's 5/30 oil. Capacity anyone?
Going to get a genuine oil filter and aftermarket air and cabin filters. I notice in the service log the fuel filter was replaced every year, but then it was dealer serviced. Is this worth doing as well?
Also I'm going to have the 4 wheel alignment done. I'm guessing at £50 to £80. Would that be right?
Feel free to add anything else I should be replacing, nothing too strenuous, and the mileage is 86000.

Parts you can get from Eurocarparts. They sell genuine but without the BMW rebadged box. Save yourself a few pennies.
6.5Litres of 5W30 oil, fully synthetic only and compliant with BMW LL04 and ACEA C3 from memory. Standard is Castrol Edge FST, but you can use any decent oil.
Changing the filters is always a good idea and you may well find (as others have) that the air filter is often ignored as it is not the easiest job to change it.
Whilst you have the top bits off it will be worth checking the crankcase breather. It should be a vortex type by 2006 but there are still a few with the foam 'bog roll' type...if it is that foam one then change it too.
If the brake fluid has not been done in the last two years then change that too.
