Software upgrade causing high fuel consumption?

Hi all,

3 weeks ago my 2007 X5 (3.0L Diesel) went into an official dealer (Vines of Guildford) for a software upgrade.
Since the upgrade I seem to be experiencing much higher diesel consumption. It's literally drinking the stuff!

On board computer shows that consumption is down from an average of 25mpg to just 20mpg - and the journeys are the same.

Any ideas if the upgrade could have caused it (does it remap the engine?) or how improve consumption again?

Best

UF

Anything can (and usually does) happen with these!!

I would suggest contacting the dealer that did it and explain the situation to see if they have come across that before??

I would also try disconnecting the battery for a few mins, and discharging the car.
Reconnect and try again!!
Sounds simply silly but has been known to sort many a problem out before!!

Call the dealer and discuss. How many miles have you done?  Do you have carly app and dongle?

Fuel consumption is high during regen. I wonder if for some reason your car is regening now but wasnt before?

Regens should only happen every 300 miles or so.
