Help please (accident) !

Hi all, had a car smash into a wall the other night. They left behind half a bumper. It has a BMW written on the back of it, just wondering if anyone could identify the car from this picture? I was thinking possibly an X5? Cheers Mark.

think its a 3 series  , maybe 07 year ?

Doesn't look quite right for an X5.  Any part numbers on any of the debris? 9 or 11 digits usually.  Might be one on the grille section, inner wheel arch liner or bumper.

Checking on Realoem (BMW Parts database) will find the car type/model/year it was fitted to.

If it left the scene then unfortunately very likely stolen/uninsured etc..... >:(

Yes Colin, you're correct! One of the lads on a 1 series forum confirmed that it was a 3 series. Here's a stock photo showing the bumper is the same, found this picture on the internet -this isn't the car at fault just merely showing an example- Hopefully some cctv in the area will pick up the reg number. The car smashed into the wall, drove off, came back 30 mins later to take away the evidence but them dumped it half a mile down the road. I'm guessing someone's had a few :beer2: got home then got their missus to drive them back and pick the bits up!
