Clicking/Relay noise in cabin

There is an audible noise coming from around the head unit/air con control unit. It is like a constant clicking/relay noise (going really quickly). As daft as it sounds, the best I could describe it as is similar sounding to roadworks in the distance :-[
If it is possible, I'll put a video up of it.

the Air con control has a small fan in the back which may be on its way out, or a small bit of debris getting drawn into it..
Pull the controls out and see if the noise is within it

Thanks.
I forgot to mention, I can hear it as soon as I get in the vehicle so whatever it is, it is working without needing the key in the ignition.

Fuel pump relay, maybe, does the clicking stop when the engine is running ? Does the clicking stop when you turn the ignition off ? Does the clicking start when you activate the fob to open the car? ?????

I think it activates with the fob. It doesn't stop if I sit in and lock it though. I can hear it with engine running if I put my ear close.

The climate control sensor fan comes on when the car wakes.
Mine used to make a hell of a racket..

Webasto ....... ? Folk often can't tell where the webasto click (near passenger door), and think it is something/somewhere else
But I think outside temp is supposed to be below 7c for that?

Good call, unplug the multiplug out of the Webasco, that should prove it, you haven't said if it's a petrol or diesel car? All diesels have the webasco I think, only a handful of petrols. It's best to put what variant of X5 you have in your signature to help others help you easier

It's a 4.8is
It's definitely around the head unit, heater controls. I'm going to pull the head unit out some time soon and hopefully identify exactly what it is.
