Fault in Drive / 4x4 system and DSC

Post by threeseashells » Tue Oct 11, 2016 11:22 am

Hi,

Just wanted to pas on my experience with these faults. I have a 2008 E70 4.8iSE

Fault in drive was caused by a fuel return valve issue. Replacement part was relatively cheap and easy to get at.

4x4 system and DSC fault felt dramatic and terminal. It ran like a bag of bolts, wouldn't go over about 50mph and sounded like it was thrashing itself. No manual or DS selection possible on the auto box. Fix was simply a replacement cam position sensor. Again, relatively cheap part, but labour was a few hours due to the amount of dismantling involved.

Hope this helps someone.
