Anyone de-badged their F15?

Post by greido » Fri Oct 07, 2016 4:11 am

My old E70 was specced with no X5 badge on the back and no badges on the sides, I really liked this and think my F15 would benefit from having the badges removed, had anyone else done this?
If so, was it difficult and were any marks left and how do you think it looked afterwards?

I specced mine de-badged and love it. Wouldn't have it any other way.

In the past I've removed badges by warming up with a hairdryer so the adhesive is soft and gently pulling from one corner. You may need to do a bit of polishing in order to remove the badge 'shaddow'.

Others I know have used dental floss or fishing wire to cut the adhesive off - this can leave some behind which can be removed with alcohol.

I had my e70 debadged as part of the order and my f15 debadged by the dealer. The advantage of the latter is that you can specify exactly which badges you want taken off and which, if any you want to remain. No marks whatsoever.

It'll be allright in the end. If it isn't allright it isn't the end

Really doesn't bother me either way.

It's only a badge and there's far more important things in life for me  ;)

Fair point...

I just like an immaculately clean car and don't like that badges hang on to grime [emoji15]

My car is off being ceramic coated now - door ding fixed this morning - happy days.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll maybe give it the hairdryer treatment and see how it goes.
