Quick Pointer when having new tyres fitted

So the other day i decided to ditch my bridgestone run flats in favor of standard tyres.  And the ride has improved a lot.  I also had the 4 wheel alignment done which was all good.
But....the following day i noticed that at about 60mph i was getting a steering wheel wobble. I then thought, why did i change as i never had this wobble before.
So i decided to take the car back to the tyre company for them to check the wheel balance, and low and behold the fronts were way out. Strange i thought, and so did the fitter, as i only had them done 2 days earlier.
The tyre fitter is a friend of mine and i watched him fit and balance the wheels in the first place and saw him add the weights etc.
Anyway, it turns out that when he fitted my tyres, he done the 2 rears first, then the 2 fronts, but after the rears he forgot to reset the balance machine to the right setting,  as like on most x5's the tyres are narrower on the front. Anyway, the car now drives great again with no wobble :)
So, its just something to consider if you have a steering wobble after having 4 new tyres fitted....This could be the problem.
The moral of the story is.....Dont chat away with the tyre fitter when he's balancing your wheels :)
Lesson learned !!!

Very useful.  Obviously not an 'intelligent balance machine'.

Easy mistake to make, thanks for pointing it out.
