Parking brake faulty

Has anyone seen this fault warning? "Parking brake faulty car may roll"

Could be caused by bad (as in worn shoes), fuse or a faulty parking brake activation servo. 

The first option is cheap, the latter one isn't!  Electronic parking brake drive unit failures are becoming more common and repairs are £600+ as the unit cannot be fixed only replaced.  It can either lock on or off.

The gear unit inside the motorised device fails and with it being inside a sealed unit it has to be replaced.  Several folks in here have suffered this recently.  :(

I had this a couple of months ago. Took it to the dealer and they did a system reset, that was it. I think they charged me around £80.
Keeping it shiny side up.

Mine had siezed cables. Garage replaced the cables and the light went off.
