Hi Guys

Decided to go for the new X5 xdrive 40d in white with 20" alloys, with a good spec of additional items. Online car build prices the car at 68k.

What discounts should i be expecting from a main dealer?

Any advice or recommendations on dealers to assist me are welcome.

Thanks

Mark

Seen a new X5 in white today and have to say it would definitely be my first choice if I was going for a new one.

Hi Mark,

I got mine through Blue Bell in Wilmslow I thought they gave me a good deal though it was the second new car I had bought through them in less than a year, ask for Oliver or Tom.
There is a post on here where someone has mentioned recently they got good discount for a new X5, shouldn't be too hard to find and ask the member for more info.

White is right.

Good luck & enjoy. :driving:

Try broadspeed. highly recommended from topgear people too. U actually buy the car through the actual BMW dealer butu get introduced to the dealer by broadspeed and can get good discounts. U can spec it up on their on website. www.broadspeed.com. good luck with your purchase

I am currently awaiting my White X5 40d M Sport with 20" wheels and quite a high number of extras :D although my build was not up to £68k more like £63k, my discount was approx 10% so if that helps to give you some kind of target.

If you dont have a preferred dealer I would contact and email my spec list through to as many BMW dealers as I could and see what each one comes back with.

One thing I would point out, make sure that whichever dealer you go through they add the 'telephone USB audio interface (6NF) option it only costs £75 but it is something which my dealer hasnt done and as I was unaware of it as it doesnt appear in the build options on the BMW website. This option allows all sorts of additional benefits especially if you have an iphone. Take a look at the thread in the X6 forum 'iphone snap in adaptors'.

Good luck with your negotiating and the waiting ( 12 to 14 wks) I was told :x

I ordered my X5 3.0D M sport from Dane at Blue Bell about 3 weeks ago. The discount they are gave me is 8% of list price (obviously excluding delivery, road tax cost) + £2500 contribution from BMW (on the webiste at the momment it says free media pack but in actual fact it is a £2500 contribution from BMW to do as you wish). On a £54.9K car I got a total discount of £6.76K.

Also try coast 2 coast cars They had a reasonable price whe we were looking. My B-I-L was also looking for a 5 series at the time so we approached and asked any extra discount if we order both together. Their BMW dealer (in Scotland - but obviously they wouldn't say more than that) offered an extra 1% discount but we went with blue bell for the convenience of being able to part-ex as well.

X5trace - is 6NF the same as 6FL USB audio interface? I have 6FL on my order form but not 6NF.

@binu, no they are two different things, I now have a copy of the September 2010 price list which itemises them seperately and it states that you have to have 6FL in order to be able to add 6NF. There is shortly going to be an upgrade to the 6NF which is 6NR which will enable video playback and lots more. I ordered mine back on the 12th January and have only discovered this in the last couple of days. I have emailed my sales guy but think its going to be too late for me. I'd get on the phone tomorrow and get it added if I was you. If you look on the BMW website and go the BMW owners section I found out quite a bit of info about these options but it definitely seems better to have this 6NF as opposed to not having it.

Thanks X5Trace - have emailed my sales guy and will f/u with a phone call in the morning. My build date is w/c 07/03 so hoping can still add it on.

Thanks for the advice
