RE Map, DPF Glow plug issues

Hi guys,
I recently bought a 09 30sd and decided to have it remapped. When the guy came to remap it it showed a couple of fault codes for 2 glow plugs and DPF regen.
The remap went fine and has improved both the performance and the economy, but now im worried about the fault codes.
Will the car automatically Regen the DPF with glow plug fault codes showing and also..how can i tell if the car is regening?
I have no fault finding equipment or code reader
I have had no warning lights on my dash
Car has covered 81k

Get yourself a Carly adapter and software around £80 or a C110/310 scanner from eBay £40 and check codes.
Did your remapper erase the codes? They really shouldn't MAP a car till all is right.
Have checked the hidden computer for actual temps? Plenty of posts telling you how.
Do you know if you still have swirl flaps fitted?
The 3.0sd twin turbo is amazing but has a few essential items that need to be in tip top condition.
How do the vacuum hoses look?
Check your actuator works correctly, there is more detail online but basically you open the bonnet and look down the drivers side of the engine and you will see a rod and bell type item. Start the engine and switch off that rod should move freely.
The DPF will only regen if certain requirements are met
>85c
Constant revs/speed in a high gear (say 60/70mph in 4th or 5th gear) for say 10-15miles
If only 2 glow plugs are down you should be ok, from what I have been advised if 50% are working it will not stop a regen. If after you scan the car it says all 6 glow plugs are down you will likely just need the controller.

Hey thanks for the reply.
Yeah he erased the codes for the remap, but codes came back after test run.
Il look into getting the equipment and go from there.
Everything under the bonnet looks fine, car drives great.
The only issues ive had..one morning the suspension warning light came on..never seen it again, and the nav started playing up but has been fine after the three button reboot.

Sometimes electrical / idrive messages can be triggered by a low battery.
It might be prudent to charge the battery up, and see if you continue to get faults..
If you are getting the glow plugs changed its a good idea to get the controller renewed at the same time...

As above do the controller at the same time as the glow plugs as you need to take the inlet manifold off for both, very common issue on the 3L diesel, had it on our 07 330d and have the same on out E70 X5.
The glow plugs required for a DPF regen on the 3L diesel is a myth, our glow plug controller has been u/s for the last 3 years of us owning our X5 and so far it keeps going into the regen cycle when it needs too.
