Help, brake service reset!
Help, brake service reset!
Hi folks, I have just fitted new front discs and pads, but not the pad sensor, to my X3 (F25). However, I am unable to reset the service indicator via the usual method (i.e pushing the black reset switch on the instrument cluster and scrolling thru the menus). I have tried with the handbrake off, as per youtube videos, but still no luck. Could it be the old sensor that needs replaced? Thanks.

Re: Brake service reset
Did the sensor trip? If so then yes you need to replace it as once tripped they need changing.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Not sure what you mean by "tripped" can you expand on that mate? Cheers.

[/quote] did the light/ low brake pad warning come on the dashboard.
If it did the sensor was tripped. Once activated the sensor needs to be replaced.

Re: Brake service reset
Fitted new sensor today, still won't reset. Service indicator has turned from red to amber and states "reset impossible" Could it be a faulty sensor even though it's new?
