Wife's car radio problem.

The wife reported to me late clast night that the radio in her E53 wouldn't work. Ive just had a glance and the screen is on but there seems to be no audio functions. The red light by the on off button is not illuminated and pressing said button has no effect.
I can switch it between tv, computer ect but I cant get it to switch to radio or cd. Its the widescreen unit.
Whats going on? Is it something i have missed?

Fuse on the radio unit?  A little thought rattling in my brain suggests there is one on the amp itself?  It's down by the battery I think.

Rear fuses 7, 72, 73 also involved.  Front fuse 7.

I fixed it somehow.. I checked all the relevant fuses including the one on the amp itself-which involves getting to and unplugging- the amp. After doing all that it now works again. Odd.

Sometimes it's no more than letting the car go to sleep and then it sorts itself out, or you take the battery off for 30 mins and that fixes it.  My X6 has started dropping all audio if the battery gets low, but as soon as I let the car go to sleep it all comes back!

I hate advanced (we'll sort of) computer based electronic systems with embedded processors!
