Hi All,
My E53 does not have a towbar ...

Please can you recommend a rear bike rack for the E53.

What are you planning on carrying (numbers, weight)? My experience of rear carriers is not great, and now only load bikes on the roof or on a tow ball mounted carrier.

If neither of these are an option, the Saris Bones carriers are the most secure in my opinion, they should fit most cars.

We use one of these works great,despite what they say about not being suitable for tailgates with glass to the edge they are,you will need a lighting board with number plate tho,wiring kits for electrics here,

looks like i will have to go with with a roof mounted bike rack.

Now I have to think about getting a roof rack. The prices here varies a lot so wondering which I should go for?

I got a rack from micksgarage.com that hangs off the back window/tailgate with tensioner straps etc - works perfectly fine. I put two bikes on it, I believe it holds four. Doesn't obscure the number plate

Hi I might have an E53 BMW bike rack for sale shortly like this one which require mounts to be fitted to roof bars but my one carries two bikes. I believe you may still be able to get the 3rd bike holder from BMW.

that looks great .... can you get into the tailgate with it on though ???
i like to take the hound out clip him to the bike and scare the life out of people in delamere forest (fat bloke on a bike being dragged by a wolf like sled dog does that)
