Removed from our E53 today. Genuine Webasto module and remote, if you`ve got your aux. heater enabled this is a must.

Remote has a 1KM range and the little red led flashes on the remote whilst the heater is running. Wiring will already be in your boot under battery cover for the module as is the the little holder that the module clips into.

Much easier than setting the timer and it`s great to have the visual indicator that the heater is running. Going to really miss this in the winter.

Hi...interested...but a question regarding the aux heater. What is the process to get the thing enabled for heating?

It just needs coding for it to be enabled. Easiest way is with pa soft scanner 1.4.0. Lots on eBay from £10+

Do these work in petrol cars? For some reason I thought they are only in diesels.  Also, is it to defrost the front screen?

There was an option to have the unit fitted 'at build' on petrol models.  The unit required is not included by default in petrol cars.

They were provided to more rapidly warm the coolant for the engine - but would do the heater too.
