CUSTOM BUILT SUB ENCLOSURE FOR E53.

For sale is an 8â€custom sub enclosure to fit the e53 x5.
I was asked previously to build some of these by forum members and decided to make a small number of them for sale. I have already sold a few with very happy customers you know who you are and thanks for your custom
When I originally thought of making the enclosure I was going to make it easy and just make a relatively square box to fit in the hole. However to get the best volume for sound and create an almost perfect snug fit (to save it vibrating around)I decided to use 18mm mdf and use multiple angles/shapes to get a totally snug fit whilst at the same time creating as much volume to the box as possible but keeping the oem look by having it all hidden away behind the panel.
As said it is made from 18mm mdf and is fully sealed and screwed to make it soundproof. The 8†sub hole is already cut so all that is needed is the sub itself to complete the enclosure.
It is possible to fit a 10†sub which would require some re cutting of the enclosure front but a good 8†sub is recommended… see attached thread below.
Here are some pics of the sub enclosures that are for sale to show you the work involved with all the different angles.
And here is what it looks like with my 8†jl audio 8w3v3 sub (sub not included)
To fit the sub enclosure you simply have to remove the boot load cover and hatch door. Then remove the plastic part that holds up the load cover, undo and pull to one side the fuse board and then slot in the enclosure and put everything back in reverse order.
A few pics to see
You can also see from the last three pics above that I added a little bracket to my enclosure secured with a small self tapping screw drilled through the original oem sub fixing plate. Also cutting the panel out and fitting a good quality grill really gives it that oem finish.
Here is some more info on another thread about this enclosure…. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=506
So to be clear…… for sale is a custom sub enclosure to fit an e53 X5 with a two port speaker connection as seen in pics.
I have a few made and ready to post asap.
If anyone is interested please pm me for details regarding price etc.
Thank you for taking the time to read this thread and hope I can be of service to some of you.
