New here, just ordered X3

Post by hoppo54 » Wed Jun 15, 2016 11:42 am

Hi all, just signed up to have a look, chat and seek out some good advice when required! Very happy to have just confirmed the order of our new x3 30d m-sport in carbon black. Our first ever brand new car so we're really chuffed, had great fun speccing it too. Just got to wait until September now, not used to that having only bought used before!

This is a pic of a 20d in the dealership that was same colour in/out and same wheels as ours will have.

Looks like a very nice spec  8)

The M5 is definitely one to remember. My first X5 was a great car - an 05 3.0D M Sport, I loved it  :punk: , the of course the 4.8iS which was good but made a much better noise than it went (gearbox was shite). The 996 and 997 were fun but the Boxster was a better drive.

Back to the M5...........it totally re-writes your definition of a fast car, mind the  :policeman:

In my books, one of the best uber saloons out there and really good fun to drive. However I'm always trying to headbutt the horizon simply because the power is there and that's not necessarily a good thing!

Hi

I agree with mogsyman a nice spec, it may be worth just making sure you have all the options ticked you want as retro fitting on the newer cars is a lot harder due to all the modules, so if you hummed and arrhged about an option say such as heated seats it's cheaper to get it done when ordering and a few here have amended their orders before the car order is sent/ built as a few have found the retro fit idea that the cost can be prohibitive.

As you say the only downside is the wait but you can track the order as others have done to see the progress.

Re mogsyman's M5 definitely fast but if you find it getting slower talk to Jason at BWChiptune as his one is mapped and iirc he said then they are quicker than a Ferrari  :))

Will this be the new X3, as I hear it's coming soon but wasn't sure when?

Hi Rich, this may be the most horrendously late reply in forum history but I've just logged back on to look for some advice, checked what I wrote last time and seen your post, don't know how I managed to miss it but apologies! Although you probably know the answer to your question now, no, its not the all-new model, its the last of the current F25s. It is, however, one of the first off the line to have the last range of minor changes to it before replacement. The most significant of these is that it has idrive 5, which is brilliant. Another change is that its got the new generation of voice control (including the interrupt feature) which is a lot more fluid, and wireless charging.

Also, as it turns out, the car that came in September had the wrong interior trim in it, the dealer were good and just ordered a new car from the factory. We kept the wrong one for 2 months until the new one came, which was as expected.

Sorry again for (unintentionally) ignoring you last time!!
