2004 facelift x5.........bluetooth/ipod or usb options for more music

hey guys

my 2004 x5 has stated to not like reading cd's (it only reads 2 out of 6 in the magazine) no matter how much i shout abuse at it she still wont read them so i would like to know what options i have regarding an ipod/bluetooth music or usb/mp3 etc

my headunit is the large motorized version

Try running a special cleaning disc through it first.  If that doesn't work then it sounds like the focussing servo is dying and that is a take it out and get it repaired job...  :(

hi

ok i will try a cleaner 1st

is it possible to hook up a usb/mp3/ipod to this year car?

BMW only offered a connection via a cable that went into the headphone socket and the other end fitted the Aux port on the head unit.  It gave no control over the device itself at all.

There were aftermarket systems that connected in and allowed much better control, but whether they are still available I don't know.  There was no factory USB capability.
