Hi everyone,
Just thought for once I should introduce myself properly on a
Forum instead of just lurking to extract information! My car is as
Per title an 06 Titan silver 3.0d sport exclusive (4.8is trim level) 20s,nappa leather,Pan roof, tortoise shell wood etc, it's my second x5 after having to sell
My first to do up my house and drive a 330d touring e46 for the last two years (not exactly hardship) but now I'm back
In the game, will try and post pics from my iPhone but being a computard, I can't
Promise I'll get it right! Thanks!

Wecome aboard...........your X5 sounds fantastic :)

Also good to here good reports from the well favoured E46 330d.

Renting for longer than expected whilst in between owned property. If we don't cost effectively source a decent & acceptable house again sooon then a 330d could easily end up on the drive............assuming we still have one that is ;)

Hi Slats & welcome aboard :D as AW8 said e46 330d was and still is a great car and pretty much the vehicle that started to let people know that diesel and performance did go hand in hand. Look forward to seeing the pics even if they will bring back a few memories of my previous beast :driving:

Nice welcome guys, thanks
didn't expect the interest in the 330d but it was a great car and will be missed, however being back up high in the x is much nicer on these speed bumped potholed roads I am forced to pay £400 a year to use! I will try and post pics of the x and as there's a bit of interest in the old wagon,I'll try and stick one of that on
As well, i have also started modding the x (as I always do!) and have something in the pipeline on the wheel front too, does anyone know how to do it via iPhone as I only have iPhone/iPad as laptop is screwed?

Well without revealing what they are yet, ( made a similar mistake on a forum before and had eager beavers pestering me to get on and do it!) they are a rare set (although not unique on here) that I picked up cheaply but in bad shape. The project is in it's fourth month due to the when funds allow nature of it because of a new arrival in the family! Two were cracked and had to be welded, one of the two had a crap attempt at welding already on it meaning the tyre couldnt even be mounted, all were curbed fairly bad, took a chance, got them home, got a very able guy to weld them up and with the help of my BMW specialist mechanic mate, hand filed the curb rash and did a rattle can refurb on them, stuck in some new BMW caps and the next step is too pick up some good part worns to make up a set with the good ones I already have(on standby at a number of places waiting for them as they aren't the most common tyres) and then stick them on for a summer before getting them done professionally next winter in a custom colour perhaps. Don't worry, I will be whoring them big time once they're on!

Thanks andym3,
Just thought I'd say that I loved your e30, I am secretly after a tech 2 convertible (had a 93 calypso red one back when I was 21 and never got it out of my system when I sold it!) but yours makes a strong case for the tech 1, always loved the borbets with the flat caps, do you go on e30 net? If im not here I'm usually there.

Doh! e30 net! What a bimbo! I knew it was e30 zone as well,I would really like to save a sad convertible and do a proper resto with fresh paint new leather, keep it oem plus with a few changes but still original enough to go to a classic car show without looking like a boy racer, but I know it would cost more than it would ever be worth,I just like the idea that I could buy it cheap and start from scratch doing it gradually ( hide the cost from the wife!) have a good mechanic/welder friend who would help me learn as I go (sort out my f@ck ups!) but it's just a dream for now as long as the kids need stuff more than me :)
