Anyone used BMW insurance? How are they? Particularly when you come to having to make a claim?
Have been with direct line for many years on and off. Switch to someone else every now and then when DL are way off on their quite. This year I figured I'd get a quote from BMW after using their complementary 7 day insurance when picking up the new car. They are actually not bad - a few quid cheaper than DL for the same cover - protected no claims, no voluntary excess etc.
The main thing is how are they when it comes to claiming? I've only ever had to claim via DL and they were great. They pursued the responsible party despite her trying to claim later on that it wasn't her fault (from photos it was clearly her fault - police also sent her on an awareness course for careless driving).
My wife has had to claim with both Admiral and DL. In both cases it wasn't her fault but the other party tried to dispute. Admiral were awful - didn't keep her updated on the claim and ultimately couldn't be bothered to push the other party so just settled 50/50. Again DL were much better they followed through with witnesses etc and the other party eventually accepted liability.
Guess based on my wife's experience with Admiral I'm getting cold feet on moving away from Direct Line because so far as insurance companies go they are pretty decent.

Re: BMW Insurance
Great for the free 7 day insurance when purchasing a new / used BMW but watch the excess. Otherwise most times Ive found their quotes a joke.
