Hi i have a 2004 e53 with a whine it starts around 30mph sound like drivers side. I thought it sounded like wheel bearing so i changed it but the noise is still there.
Any ideas?

cv joints are a weak point on the x5 but i'd expect more of a grinding noise if it was that
on saying that it's worth looking at

Was your wife driving after a night out? Mine has been known to do this.

What about the front diff where the driveshaft goes in on that side?

What tread depth difference have you got front/back and left/right?
