Hi Guys,
I've just got my renewal through, £1265! After getting new quotes online I got it down to £990.. Even then I think the is too much, how much is everyone paying for there X5? Mine is a 2008 X5 35d M Sport.
Cheers
Freshy

My Porsche is less than £600 so the X5 doesn't make sense..

My renewal quote is £760 from Admiral for my '07 X3 3.0sd that is with 24 years NCB.
I paid £210 last year for my '56 X3 2.0d before it was stolen and replaced with current X3.

It is very postcode dependant and there has been a spate of thefts with the X5 which may have forced premiums. I have always paid less than £450 on my 40d.

I found Admiral terrible for my X5, I have just purchased a 2004 4.8is, my previous car was a 530i sport insured with Admiral for £250 a year, they wanted an additional £560 to cover the X5 for the remainder of the year.
I cancelled and got comparable cover for less than £350 through Autonet.
Previously when I have had a better quote somewhere else Admiral have tried to match it, however on this case they weren't interested.

I'm with direct line now. Was with the co-op (eco insurance) for our last car (x3 2.0d m sport 07 plate) and paid £190 comp protected etc. Bought the x5 4.0d and they wouldn't renew as too risky???? Direct line were the sensible option with regards to a lower standard excess (£250for any claim) 9yrs ncb me and missus no accidents claims endorsements etc etc 46yrs both..... Some insurance company's give a lower premium but want like £400-600 for any claim made, but are only £20 cheaper.

Had been with Admiral for a few years. This year they wanted £1800 got it for £900 with hastings. Live South Central London, car on the road, 2 drivers 42 and 50, 9 years NCB. Then again admiral were still the cheapest for the Volvo at £700! its a £2003 V70 D5 worth £3k. Does have business use on it though.
Have a Merc c350e plug in hybrid turning up soon and quotes for that are still cheaper than the X5!

Getting quotes for my 2012 40d now. Just me, 35, 9 years NCB protected, £0 voluntary excess £100 compulsory, occasional business use. Direct line (current insurer) ~ £720, BMW ~£700, MoreThan £1100, Aviva site just bummed out after I put all my info in can't be bothered to do it again.
Will run through one of the comparison sites tomorrow to see what's out there but doubt I'll go with any of those companies because I know if I'm in an accident I'll regret trying to save a couple of hundred quid with all the hassle I'll have to go through whether it's my fault or not.
Probably end up sticking with direct line depending on the feedback I get regards BMW insurance.
35d/40d def higher risk as I only paid £350 for my E53 last year with the same cover as above. Glad the insurance companies aren't insisting on a tracker as they used to when I originally brought the E53.

How on earth have you managed to get 24 years no claims - most insurance companies stop counting at 9 years (I should have more than 9 but cannot provide evidence as direct line don't go any higher).
Nice quote though - bet you're tempted by that
)

Just re-read my renewal form and it says 21 years NCB, wonder if that is because of my theft.....
Yes I was very tempted by that quote.
Got a renewal through Lloyds for £372, so not too bad
