Hi All
Require some help / Advice , after fitting new aftermarket unit , was a Xtrons android type , anyhoo . All connections came with it for fitting to a X5 E53 (non sat nav type ) , All fitted , but the radio reception is terrible for all my stations . I did hear that the old unit , which was the stereo and cd player , the stereo connections at the back send power to the receiving amplifier , but on the new stereo the only connections that plug in are from the cd player , there in no plug in space for the multiplug that came from the old stereo ???, if anyone has experience fitting aftermarket unit , please get in touch

The xtrons is (I think) a unit made by HuiFei / KGL 253, you need to bring the aerial from under the floor wit an extension. The signal is still rubbish, i ended up buying a fin style aerial and feeding it through the roof and looked OK

OK, this is all at your own risk... but.. I installed an XTRONS with pop out screen in an old Shogun, and the radio reception on all bands and all stations was appalling.  At the time I did some pootling around the internet and for many XTRONS there is the ISO connectors are not correct and there is no power to the "power ariel" input which the unit is expecting  and uses to drive the radio signal (Im not an electrician so am probably explaining this all wrong).  Anyway I "think" I ended up splicing some power line from the old radio into the "power ariel" input of the xtrons and my radio was perfect again.

There used to be a decent XTRONS forum which I think is where I found the information.  Also try their customer service through the website.  My nav also wouldn't work but they sent me some updated voice files which fixed it.  Was actually a cracking head unit once all the gremlins were sorted.

Hope this helps
