isofix
Re: isofix
My early 2004 has them. Just take a look at the back seats. If there are rectangular black plastic caps at the bases of the backrest cushions - and there are black metal loops behind the plastic caps - you have isofix connecting points.
Hope I'm being clear.

Re: isofix
ISOFIX connections are chassis mounted, not part of the seat. You will have to fit child seats that use seat belt fitting systems. Some do both. ISOFIX became mandatory not long after yours was built but was optional up until then.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: isofix
All X5's should have them. I checked this out before buying mine which is a 2001 car and has them. They look different to the pics though as they are in a gap between the seat base and backrest so if someone has removed the clip on caps they may not be at obvious. It's chucking it down here right now but once it dries up a bit I'll nip out and take a pic for you with and without covers.
