groans and creaks

So I've fixed the constantly squeaking rear end on my X5 (the rear hub carrier was worn so the ball joint worked loose and squeaked)
now I've noticed that the boot seems to house a bucketful of creaks and groans of its own

Before i start ripping the whole interior out are there any common noisy spots

I think it's probably something to do with the LPG conversion and the way the suspension compressor has been relocated but i just wanted to see if there was anything else i should look at before i start moving stuff

on a side note ...... i bloody love this car when its working properly  :) :)

Try the rear seat catches and boot lid for starters. Wrap the "D" rings with insulating tape (or anti rattle tape).
I was surprised how much difference it made!

Check the bump stops for the tailgate in the channels if these aren't set right boot lid flexes and makes annoying squeaks

The worst and most annoying noisy rattling I ever had in my X5, some how ceased when I got divorced...
and the car has been remarkably rattle free since... no groaning or relentless annoying noises any more !

It's bloody marvellous  :-)

I suspect that I'd loose the X5 in subsequent legal proceedings but the groaning would be gone

Yeah.... but in getting rid of the bloody moaning groaning part of the vehicle... you can always get another X5 if she won it...  and it will be a lovely quiet drive..

My ex wife was an excellent house keeper..
she kept the house, the contents, AND £120,000 of fabulous cars...
she got my family, my 6 figure inheritance, my children....
AND
made me homeless...
But now, I am happier than Ive been in the last 40 years....
Money can be replaced... so can cars...

peace, quiet and contentment is another issue & some times comes at a cost..

However...
No creaks ever again..... worked for me... ha ha

Have a great day Guys.

regards
Grant B

I have noticed that the faster i go the louder the moaning gets .... in fact at 95mph it becomes a loud screech
but if i'm driving to a shopping expedition there is very little groaning or screeching (except a loud gasping noise from my bank manager)

Best thing to do is say you are meeting the fancy woman ! If she manages to get in the car she will stay quiet looking out for them , problem solved .
Alternatively buy some monopoly and a spare wallet , say you have just won big at the races leaving your wallet upstairs full of the monopoly money , ask her to go get it , while upstairs  then go out .
