Good Morning to all you classy classy people.  8) 8)
Could anyone please advise/share on a decent rear mountable dash camera (already have one in front), and where I am able to permanently wire it to?
Ta very much.

Looking to do the same with mine.  The rear 12V sockets used to be powered all the time so that might be an option, or if you want a switched live then check in the rear fuse box and use a piggy-back fuse to also get power to the camera.

If a suction mount is no good, and you don't want to stick anything to the glass itself I have been wondering if I can gently lower part of the headlining to see if there is an attachment point with potential.

After that then fitting something to the side trims just inside the door is an option perhaps?

Have a look at the Nextbase range to see if theirs are any good for what you want.  I have their 520G in the front.

Do you leave the nextbase permanently attached in the vehicle.  I keep thinking about these

Yes.  Same with the Roadhawk in the other car.

mmm. I'm trying to decide between the Nextbase 312GW (£99) or 512G (£154).
Wondering if the Wi-Fi in the 312GW is more valuable than the better night vision of the 512G, probably not but the 312GW is also a smaller more discreet unit.

decisions decisions decisions....

(I do like the Nextbase Hard Wire Kit for seamless wiring into the fuse box)

That hard wire looks a bit nifty so will be getting one of those today methinks, so now starts the search for the camera. ☺️☺️☺️☺️

I installed the Nextbase 512G today with the Hardwired Kit. I had to remove the cubby so that I could feed the cable up the A Pillar. Getting the cubby out took at least 45mins so the entire job took about 1.5 hours. Suspect I could halve that if I need to do it all over again.

I'll let you know my opinions of the unit in a week or so after some use.

Piggy Backed it to the Rear Window Heater Element fuse. Worked like a charm!

That's a coincidence, I did mine yesterday too, I did mine to the rear wiper.
Works like a dream.
