Hi guys & gals, My X5's played this stunt twice now.........
Kids tried to open the rear doors (from the inside) whilst locked....
Wouldn't open....
Pressed the lock/unlock button on centre console to unlock.
Buttons on all doors pop up, but the rear doors won't open from the inside or the outside!
Arse around for ten minutes locking and unlocking and general parifinailure,
and all returns to normal
(child locks are turned off)
Answers on a post card to................ Climb over to the front my arse!!
Any ideas :'(

Hi
I think could be the wiring to the rear doors from the pillar at fault I.e. A intermittent connection where wires are worn.
I say this as had similar on wife's old Astra sometimes it would unlock and open other times it wouldn't.
My friend danny checked it and as a Vauxhall technician he checked the wiring and several wires were fraid and only made a circuit sometimes and so short out on occasions as wires touching.
Hope that helps
Graeme

There's been a couple of threads previously on this, use the search button and type in rear doors.

I had the same issue with the front passenger door, button would rise but inside or outside handles wouldn't open the door.
The problem was the door lock its self, it was corroded I managed to get the door card off (just sacrifice the clips) and first sprayed WD40 on the mechanism and work it with a long screwdriver. Once it was free and I could open the door I took out the lock and cleaned it then doused it in spray lithium grease. All has been well for the last 2 years or so.

Ok, Thank you all for some great suggestions, I'll order some new door card retaining clipps from Fleabay, then it's off with the panels and I'll delve inside.
Sounds like a good excuse to upgrade the speaker whilst I'm in there, I've been doing a lot of reading up on other peoples E53 sound systems, think I'll start with upgrading the speakers (but I'm not spending £100's) If anyone fancy a chat about speaker upgrades I'm all ears! After all the reading it does appear everyone who's done an upgrade has used different speakers and all been happy,,,, Must prove the BM standards really are poor.
