Tie down points in the boot

I had a look in the boot of 2 X5's in the dealer, as I need to secure a cage for the dog. They had a new one with a rail system, and a second hand one with 4 anchor points with no rail system. Both cars were the 7 seat versions.

I've ordered the 5 seat version. Does anyone know whether my car will come with 4 anchor points or the rail system when it arrives in September?

The Herbert at the dealer didn't have a clue when I asked!

I asked BMW about this as I need to fit a dog guard when my car arrives.

They said, all X5's currently come with the 'extended storage' package which includes the four lashing rails. But the rail system is deleted on models with the 3rd seating row option.

Therefore your car should come with rails.

Ok, that's good to know that mine will have the rails. But, the car in the showroom with the rails was a 7 seater! :))

That's the annoying thing. I was also asking them about comfort seats, and the guy showed me a car with what he thought were comfort seats. It had the standard m sport seats with lumbar support! I don't know how these muppets get their jobs, as most of them couldn't find their arsehole with both hands!

Those rails were optional for my X6 despite being shown in all the pictures!  Salesman had no clue!
