E70 Cuts out when revved...? Injector?

Hi Guys, seem to have another fault with the X5...!

I know its not used much but its been fine recently.

Other day started it, left it running for a few mins and when i set off the drive it just cut out! Started again, set off again and it cut out no warning lights etc... So called the AA Breackdown service and he plugged in his scanner and found a fault code relating to Injector Number 5,

Now they said it may need a new injector, anyone had similar issue?

Cars was fully serviced 500 miles ago, all glow plugs, air mass, egr valve and glow plug relay replaced recently too...

Any advice chaps?

I'm surprised loss of one injector would cause a cut out.  It would run lumpy and smoke a bit, but it should run.

It could be that the injector wiring harness hasn't been properly plugged in after the changes. >:(

Well the AA mechanic didn't even look under the bonnet.

With regards to everything being plugged in, it was done 500 miles ago all the servicing so you'd think any issue would have arised earlier.

I have read on a few posts that a faulty injector will cause cutting out of the engine... There's no fuel smell or smoke or running lumpy issues - idles fine.

Every day's a school day then.....

The reason for suggesting the connector/wiring was that if a locking tab isn't fully home then the connector could vibrate apart, which might take a little while. :)
