DVD navigation unlock

Hi ,can anyone tell me if I can get my sat nav DVD player unlocked so can play DVDs , car is x5 e70 2008 ,only have stack CD player in glove box ,so would like to unlock sat nav DVD if possible

The Satnav unit is not just a disc reader but is the navigation computer itself so you would need to change the electronics as well.  You then need to add a DVD decoding chipset & firmware.  These units read data discs not decode video.

Not an easy job AFAIK.

I've just bough a stand alone DVD player and lead which splits into feed to to tuner with an infra red sensor to install in the front unit in the back lead has outlet for rear screens if I wish as well as reverse camera

If you can't use DVD nav unit is it possible to get reaf DVD unit from entertainment centre to play on front screen
