Hi all
I am thinking of getting my 3.0 lci 245bhp mapped once the auc warranty has expired it done 65k is this too many miles to be remapping ?
I don't want to map it and gear box go pop for example? I know it's always a risk but just after general advice and peoples thoughts ?

Remap mileage
Re: Remap mileage
I think that will be fine
Remaps are made to be in gearbox tolerances
And assume you won't be doing standing start, traffic light pulls everyday and through the limit all the time lol
If I keep the car after all the saga I'm going through I would like a remap as my old 535d was mapped and just made it a little bit more responsive and better to drive
Plus I'm on 90k

No it's certianly won't be doing many standing starts ( I have an m3 for that kind of behaviour ) it's just for a bit more kid range punch for over taking etc as torque gains are supposed to be very good.
Not many places near me do the remap for the 245 version of the 3.0 ! Any one tried super chips or Quantum re maps ?

Re: Remap mileage
Depending on your location, we have Jason from bwchiptune on the forum. He can do a bespoke map for you. He is based in West London.
Send him a PM as he isn't always about to read forum entries.

Re: Remap mileage
The only advice would be to give the car regular services, in particular an oil change every year. No experience of remaps, but have a few friends that have done them, and they were advised to do this for longevity.

Re: Remap mileage

Re: Remap mileage
It is. BMW put coding locks on it so it has to come out and be done on the bench! It also reports the build version back to BMW so the next time the car goes to an official dealer and gets plugged in, their servers promptly overwrite the map! >:(
With the way EU legislation is going, recaps are going to become a thing of the past :'(
Brexit anyone?
