Battery Problems

Hello guys,i am new to the forum but hope you can help.the battery on my x5 has been going flat a couple of times this week,the message TRANS FAULT has been showing I jump start it and it seems to run ok for a while then it happens again usually after car has been sitting for a couple of days,i do a lot of stop and start driving in my job s wonder if that can be the prob,thanks in advance

What age, model, have you got?

Has the battery been changed?

When you say trans fault is that 4x4 transmission it's showing or something else?

Noticed when mine battery was changed and being recoded it had shown the 4x4 error but this just needs to be with steering wheel lock to lock and driven to reset I believe

It's a common problem in RRS with lots of electrics when you lock and unlock the door lots of clever things happen on start up that require lots of electricity.  Probably as much to do with your use and not getting the battery a charge.
I know that if my wife's uses ours about town for a few days, the sat nav reboots on start up.  If it's been running then the sat nav comes on straight to the screen.
