X3 3.0d man - list of issues

been using DIS57 and the DPF looks like its clogged but not sure how to fix this. I do quite a lot of short journeys now but at least once a week it gets a good longer journey. Can I force a regen or do I need some sort of cleaning fluid or additive?

Second problem is that the car never gets up to temp. Didn't need DIS for this one but my temp gauge never goes to the middle. Not even close.

Next issue is that I had low pressures on all my tyres but no warning light from the TPMS... It did come on the first time I checked the tyres when I bought the car so it worked before but it's never worked since.

Regards to needle not reaching full operating temperature I would swap the thermostat for a new one first.

Sounds like a plan. Heard there are two. Should I replace both or just the main one?

Faulty thermostats will prevent the DPF from regenerating, search for Jagr's how to on this topic.

From the above link there seems to be 2 stats,an EGR and a standard stat which is the main one to change hope it goes well and fix your problem.

Anybody know what the tyre pressure sensor problem might be

It depends upon the rate of pressure loss.  If all are losing pressure evenly then the system doesn't spot it.  It really only works well in the event of a single tyre drop as the system is designed to spot a difference across the four rather than a trend over all four.

The warning light comes on after refilling the tyres because it will spot the differences as they are sudden between engine & therefore monitoring system starts.

Possibly the only way to check might be to pump all up, reset the system and let one down by say 10psi and carefully monitor it over a distance so you don't overheat the tyre but do trigger a light?

They had all gone down to about the same level so that makes a lot of sense. All pumped up now.

Temp issue is really apparent now. Been driving for 45 mins and stationary for 5 and it's not even made it to the line before the middle.

Defo change the stats.  You will probably need to do a number of forced regens to clear the exhaust after the stat is done.

Seem to remember an option for the regen on DIS. Does anyone know the procedure.

Do not buy from eurocarparts unless you want to do it twice

Cotswold BMW offer discounts for forum members

These are the part numbers needed:

The EGR thermostat can be bought cheaper here:
