Lci rear lights

Hi all my rear lci lights seem to be full of dead little flies any idea if the lights can be split to clean them out ?

Probably worth getting a replacement than split open?

Remove from car, wash out, dry, put back on car

They disconnect from inside each rear wing AFAIK. You may need to remove trim in each rear quarter to get to them. Splitting the units is probably not an option as BMW use stronger glues than they used to.
If they have fixed LEDs inside then probably your only option is to blow the debris out with a compressed air blower, or airline?

Be careful if they are LED lights, as mine has LED side lights and the LED tubes are fixed inside the rear lamps.
I know this as the rear taillight failed and I had to replace the complete rear lamp ( common fault on the E9x )
Edit / as usual X5Sport types faster than me
