Anyone had to change IBS?

Post by celica » Fri Feb 26, 2016 6:58 pm

What's the part number for this, as unsure when looking at realoem if right part

I don't think I need it, as no error codes on it and reluctant to change just because of increase discharge without me giving the battery a good charge and change the blower regulator first as I have a pulsating noise possibly from it

I only ask as Indy suggested IBS, cable fitting would be next step?

The IBS should show an error code if faulty.  Is there a code?

Worth checking that ALL the wires are connected.  There should be a blue (I think) wire that also runs to the -ve terminal and it should be plugged in.  If it isn't then the IBS won't be working as it should and you'll get incorrect charging.  If it is plugged in, are the contacts clean/not corroded/mating OK?

Unless your Indy really knows these cars, then a BMW dealer visit is needed.  It could stop you throwing good money after bad.

No error and pretty sure all connections are okay

You're right I wouldn't just start throwing parts at it
