Has anyone had this issue - the upper tailgate opens perfectly but the lower part that folds out flat towards the driver often does not release after pulling the lever. Its a 2012 model with warranty so hoping its covered.....
I have sprayed wd40 on both the lock mechanisms but it makes no difference. Any ideas...if i cant open it my dog cant get out which could be a problem!

I believe it could be a stretched cable and is probably fairly easy to adjust - I have the same issue and had a quick look, but haven't had a chance to do the job yet.
If imagine it may be covered by warranty, but either way should be a quick job for the garage or yourself.

It went to the main dealer yesterday and they put some grease into the handle mechanism and now its working much better.
