Does such a thing exist? I would love to buy one and take on especially long journeys. I had one for my E60 and used it twice, having replaced the RFT's for normal tyres.

Look on Realoem and you should find the part numbers.  Look on line and hopefully save yourself some money.  :)

Thanks for the tip. I checked Realoem and found this part number 36112187043, but it's ridiculously expensive. For circa £4-500 I can buy a 17" wheels and use them as winter/spares

I have an extra wheel for my E83 but it does not fit in the carrier, so stuck with the space saver

We don't have a dedicated storage space, so it has to fight for space with luggage, or stay at home for emergency use

On my F25 I carry the Emergency Wheel Kit that I bought for my E61.
My garage checked that it would fit but thankfully I've not had to use it - touch wood!

Daarn,  i let my kit go with my e60 :-(
Are you sure it fits?  I would put it on to be sure one weekend and let me know please. They can be bought relatively cheaply nowadays.

Yes I think so - we tried it out when I got my first F25 3yrs ago?
If my ageing memory severs me right - I'd bought a set of E83 winter wheels (which wouldn't fit) and tried it out then whilst it was jacked up at the garage?
If not I've been carrying it for nothing. [emoji3]
When I get the chance I'll check it out again just to be sure?

Could you give me the tyre size in full please.
My car has 245/45/19 and 275/40/19 tyres, which gives a rolling diameter of 703mm. As long as it's the same (+/- 1%),it should be ok.

Your tyres are the same as mine.
The wheel fitted OK with no binding with the brake discs.

Emergency space saver wheel with tyre set comprises:

1x Black steel emergency wheel 4BX17 ET:18 (36 11 6 758 778)

1x Rubber valve L=42,5MM (36 12 1 116 326)

1x Tyre Continental CST17 T135/80R17 102M (36 12 6 758 795)

Thanks for checking, but that won't work in a real life scenario

Difference in diameter:
245/45/r19 and 135/80/r17 is...

8.49%Actual diameter change: 55mm

That would cause an issue with your transfer box.

We need a total diameter pretty close to 703mm or a 2% max difference

I would have to do the maths but would they work with 17" wheels?

The 17" wheels come with 225/60 tyres which equate to a diameter of 702mm so the spare you have will not be suitable.
I've decided to keep a look out for a single wheel and tyre to keep at home (spare)
