My M5 is due to go in 6 months and I'm thinking of changing to the X5 50D M Sport.
On another forum (no names etc.) the thought has not been received well.....so are they that boring that I'd be regretting it within a month?
Cheers

There's no point, I may as well stay with an M5
I just fancy a change.

A weekend extended test drive might be a good idea, that's if you can get One from your local dealer.
The X5 50M seems to get some negative comments from the motoring journalists.
They seem to think if you want a fast BMW buy an M5.

Had already seen the other forum discussion.
If cold tyre non summer traction is the issue I might be inclined to try the M5 with the smaller rims and some alternarive rubber first.
But if you now have a dog then an estate or 4x4 may make more sense for when X3 in use & hauling duties required.
Alpina XD3 (0-62 in 4.9 secs) may be of interest if you can find one albeit the X3 is due replacement in 2017 albeit I suspect you probably won't want two X3's.
Forthcoming Ferrari GTC4 Lusso has to be the ultimate 4WD family & K9 carrier.......at a price.
Jag F Pace raisng a few eyebrows at the moment....but orders probably stacking.
I haven't driven most of the metal discussed here, allbeit you well know it will be down to your driving experience & you driving all year round on types of roads you regularly use. (Edit just re-read thread above & seen latest comments re extended test driving).
