AFAIK No.  The data passes through BMW owned servers to their mobile phone data service provider.  No fee, no service  :o

In theory you could change the embedded SIM if you know how to get at it, and it may be permanently fixed in.

What do you want the connected drive for? (Serious question)
Still learning to use mine, but it appears to be of limited use to me. I have until the cars 3rd birthday, and can't see myself paying £240 per annum to renew it.
The android app allows me to send maps directly to the car, and turn the fans on!

Hi afraid if you don't have connected drive you can't send anything to the car

I find that function very useful day to day for work. It's so easy to pick my destination via the phone,  and just go once i'm in the car.  On Tuesday the connected drive allowed the concierge service to know where i had a puncture and send the details of the nearest BMW dealer directly to my car. Impressive and worth the cost of a tyre
