New car - knocked before delivery

Hello all,

Been lurking on these forums to hear all your thought and opinions to choose my X5. Finally put down my deposit for a 2 year old x5 this Saturday

The dealers call me today and tell me, while the car was being filled up to be brought down to me, the car was knocked while stationary at the pump. They say it was just the bumper.

The dealer has been very fair and is investigating how it will be fixed and I can advise them how I want to proceed depending if I am satisfied.

I am leaning toward proceeding, as long the affected bumper is totally replaced and the new one colour matched to ensure the bumper matches.

Any thoughts on this, should I ask for a formal write up from the dealer so I have something to come back on if required ?

Thanks all

Thanks for the feedback - my father in law said the same, they could have replaced it and blagged me for an extra 2-3 days with another reason and I might not have known. The dealer mentioned possibly giving me courteousy x5 during the repair. I am guessing they will charge all this to the "other guys" insurance.
