E53 Diesel turbo removal and replacement
I am about to start the replacement of my turbo this weekend and would appreciate all advice, tips and suggestions . Turbo seals blew due to blocked breather valve and blocked CAT. I have replaced the breather valve assembly and removed the CAT altogether.

Oh dear. Having been following your other thread, this does not sound good. I take it the oil is blowing past the exhaust side of the seal? Are you fitting brand new or remanufactured?
There's a what to check once the blower is fitted here: http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/BMW-X5-Turboc ... 0017562942
If the oil has blown from the inlet side then you will need to clean the pipes, intercooler and all other connections of oil contamination.
Other than that, the advice about keeping everything very clean and avoid ANY debris falling into the inlet and exhaust turbines should be heeded. With the turbo running at up to 100,000rpm, debris can cause damage very quickly. There was a post recently on Xoutpost showing a guy in the Philipines whos garage were not checking debris in the inket stream. He had 4 turbos wrecked one after the other!

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
