New owner query

I have a 2011 X3 with just the fob and no key. Is it possible to lock the car and not have the alarm on? Occasionally I might leave my dog in the car and with my previous cars I've left the drivers door open and locked every other door using the central locking button, then locked the drivers door with the key.

Not sure about the x3 but on my x5 if you double press the lock button this disables the interior sensors i would imagine this is the same on the x3 i'm sure someone will be along to confirm or correct this :) and  :hi: along and dont be shy with the pictures :camera:

On the earlier X3 you just press the lock button twice to turn off interior sensor, I would assume it's the same for the later model.

If you have the owners manual it will definitely tell you in there.

When we've traveled on ferries , they have asked everyone to press the fob button twice to disable the rock/ tilt sensor on their cars, this also disables the PIR inferred sensors too so you can leave pets in the car whilst popping into the shop.
It's worked on all the BMW's I've had.
