Just purchased my low mileage 2002 3.0d BMW X5 black, with black leather and mahogany trim.... I absolutely love it!!!!
But before I get it on the road I need to do an oil/oil filter change, because the oil light is on and when I checked the oil it is below the min line has anyone got any helpful links on how to do this. I'm also going to change the air filter too, just wondering if you guys think I should change my pollen filter at the same time?
I would also like to say thank you to thedweeb for an excellent illustrated walkthrough on how to change the air filter - viewtopic.php?f=22&t=262

Thank you all.
I will upload pictures soon.

Welcome, and enjoy the X. I would suggest doing the pollen filter as well given that the oil light was on and below the min level. It doesn't give you much confidence that the previous owner was too bothered about service/maintenance etc.
