Hi there,
My nearside low-beam bulb has gone and wondered if anyone can point me in the direction to buy a replacement bulb?

It's a standard D2S HID bulb and they're available in lots of places on line. Look for Philips or Osram D2S HID 35w with a colour temp of 4300K to match OEM. You can get them from about £45. Ensure you wear gloves and make absolutely sure the bulb is cold, the ignition has been off for a while and you take care with the electrics. You might be safer either pulling the lighting fuses or taking the battery off, as the starter ballast puts an ignition pulse of about 25kV to the bulb to 'strike' the arc. Saves getting a belt you weren't expecting! The ballast may still carry a slight charge, hence the caution.

Is the other HID showing any signs of the beam 'yellowing'? If so you should replace both to ensure matching colour temperature.

The Bi-Xenon bit is simply a lamp unit mounted shutter that masks part of the beam on 'Low' and moves out of the way on 'Full'.

Thanks so much for your help, found one for £45.00 and will get a mate to fit it, just in case.

And that's where the fun starts. I think you may have to move the headlight unit forward to be able to get at the bulb from references I've seen on the web.

To avoid shocks, disconnect the battery before you start, it's not risky as long as you (or anyone else) do nothing silly with the light switch. As long as you are 'aware' it's very straightforward. Also wear Vinyl (or rubber if you're not allergic to Latex) surgical type gloves to keep finger smears off the glass.
