Hi All,

I have been asked if I want to buy a X5 SE - 2004 70k miles with Sat Nat / TV for around 11,000 - I just wondered whether anyone could offer me some advice - I have searched and searched google but no luck !!:

1. What is the differences between the Sport model and SE model - I've noticed a couple of things - no aluminium running boards and different seats ?
2. Is it worth buying the SE at this price ? or should I go for a sport
3. It has main dealer service history to 23,000 miles and then an independant garage at 50,000 & 65,000 - is this too risky to take a chance on ?

Very grateful for any help and advice

Thanks
Simon

Welcome Simon,

At a glance, the Sport will have over the SE

Bigger alloys
Sport seats with electric adjust
Sport steering wheel
Anthracite headlining (I think they call it)
Sport suspension
Colour coded door handles

Running boards can be spec'ed on either derivative, not just the Sport. Ride is softer but consider resale if you get it for less now. You may find yourself always 'wanting' the Sport.

History is patchy but may well be sound if from a 'good' indy specialist but you've have to do a thorough check. HTHs.

Read this thread too (VERY helpful):
