My dad X5 recall

Post by Edouard H » Wed Dec 16, 2015 3:37 pm

Hi everyone,

I own the first generation of the X5. My father really enjoyed it too and eventually became jalous. He then bought a 2015 model few months ago.

The issue is that he got a message from BMW for a recall in order to fix some software issues. However he didn't have any technical problem so far. How do they know there is an issue?

Does some of you also received such message for a recall?

Thank you in advance

Best wishes

Manufacturers carry out recalls all the time even if it doesn't appear to the driver.

Recent recalls have affected drive shafts, fuel pumps, security software, airbags to name just a few.  Our E46 has just had an airbag done under recall and it's 10 years old.

They may not be full blown safety issues but they need doing in BMWs opinion.

Interested to hear about the recall on a 10 year old vehicle. Is there a web site that will let you know if there are recalls ?
