x5 50d ... whats the lag between putting your foot down and accelleration?

Post by exon16m » Mon Nov 30, 2015 10:00 pm

Had mine 6 months never been that impressed with the take off reaction speed it takes 2-3 seconds for the car to react

Had just been into the dealer who has said that they road tested and all is as it was meant to be.

any thoughts is this normal?

if so how does it get to 60 in under 6 sec? is there some kind of launch control ?

Sport mode?  No fuel in the tank, and a vertically challenged underweight driver (with no options at all fitted to the car), downhill with a following gale perhaps?

Seriously though what's it like in Sport mode?  The one I tested took off like a scared hare in Sport.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

The car will normally pull off in 2nd gear so if you then floor it from stand still the car has to change down but 2-3 seconds seems very slow. Have you timed this pause or does it just feel that long?

My 35d is like that in D but if you put it in sport it takes off like a scalded moggie. I'd imagine yours will be similar but quicker !
