Me again.
As you are all aware my X has been in getting work done on the air suspension.
Whilst at the indy he noticed the front passenger footwell carpet is soaking wet.
Has anyone had this problem before and any ideas where the leak could be.
I have to admit I am now starting to get a bit
with the X now.
cheers

Any indication of loss of water from your washer reservoir? There is a joint part way back which if it freezes may part and you get water in that area.

I'm sure someone has had this problem on here very recently, conclusion was that it was coming through the door, try checking that your door is not got water in it, as it could be that the drain holes at the bottom of the door are not allowing the water to drain away (I take it has them as I have never looked)

I agree most likely culprit is the waterproof inner door membrane behind the inner door panel becoming unstuck from the inner door skin, very easy to check by removing the inner door pad and checking if it securely bonded to the door all the way around, you can also check the rear face of the door pad for signs of being wet.
Have you had any work done in that door that you are aware of ? As this may have disturbed the membrane.
hope this helps
Cheers

From memory the door seals deform as the car ages, my E46 had the same issue and it turned out the seal wasn't as good as it could have been and was letting rain water in by capillary action.
I was going to replace them but sold the car before the next winter so didnt finalise it, although it was confirmed as a known issue on older models (1999 in my case).
Good luck, not a nice fault to find and cure.

Hi Ken,
If it is none of the above then check out the Pano Sunroof drains... they sometimes get blocked up over time with grime.
Hope you find the fault, and hope the suspension gets sorted soon... hate it when it seems like just one thing after another!
Turks.

Phill & Stevox5, cheers
Sounds like this could be the problem but not 100% sure.
I had new front speakers fitted last summer so maybe the door seals have been disturbed.
